Let me tell you who I am
A hands-on workshop in English on visual communication and branding.
This is a course on effective visual communication and branding, but one that prioritizes the artistic imperative over what is usually viewed as mere packaging or functional design. The fact of the matter is that if you approach the branding process with the right intention, the visual ecosystem around your music, although functional in nature, will be a direct extension of your music, i.e., its analog.
So, in essence, what you will be learning is how to translate your unique artistic vision, your personal belief system, as well as the specificity of your music into a visual language. And because this is a hands-on course, participants will be encouraged to work on their own artistic profiles and/or forthcoming releases. By the end of the course, each participant will have a rough draft of their brand manifesto (along with a mood board) and a mood board for the artistic direction of their upcoming release.
During the span of the course, participating artists will learn about:
- Communication fundamentals
- Branding fundamentals
- Activating archetypes in visual communication
- Translating music into visuals
- Communicating with designers and visual artists
- Designing a mediated persona
- Using visual communication as a safety buffer
